Erdlinge

"On leaves rests the life of the whole biosphere"

Erdlinge is an outdoor dance performance about our relationship to the life around us. It was performed in September 2022 at Schönholzer Heide in Berlin, entirely outdoors, in daylight, without the use of any electricity.

There is no audience seating. The spectators are free to move around observing and engaging the environment and following the performers activities. They walk with the performers to five different spots in Schönholzer Heide.

Erdlinge is about exploring and living our relationship to the non-human life around us, to plants that populate our immediate environment. It is about us, urban humans, immersed in a shared environment with plants and many other animals that live within the limits of what we call 'the city'. The philosophical starting point is that there is no separate 'nature' out there, beyond the city. We are all part of the ecosystem, and the city is within the ecosphere.
